Katie on What you Can Expect from Counseling:
“During the first appointment, you will fill out intake paperwork including general demographic information as well as a confidentiality statement and a consent agreement. We will then discuss your reason for visiting and begin to define goals and to make a plan to address your concerns. I enter into my practice with an open mind and flexible approach. My therapeutic style stems from a great deal cognitive-behavioral therapy training with emphasis on mindfulness. My work also holds strong tones of solution-focused brief therapy. While some people find one session is sufficient to address concerns, others may find ongoing support better addresses their needs. I do my best to meet each person where they are in order to engage in a collaborative relationship that supports emotional, intellectual, and personal growth.”
