Group Fitness Schedule through December 19, 2015


One of the many benefits of being a member of the UMF FRC is access to our group fitness classes.

Classes are:

  • FREE, no additional charge above and beyond your membership fee
  • Open to all members
  • Instructed with modifications for every fitness level
  • Drop in accessible and do not require a sign up
  • Includes classes such as Zumba, Piloxing, Kickboxing, Cycle, Pilates, Bootcamp, Yoga and Aqua Zumba. (Descriptions can be found below)
  • Our Group Fitness schedule does change monthly and is posted on our website as well as on our UMF FRC Group Fitness FaceBook page.

Class Description
Pilates This mind/body class is based on the Pilates method and focuses on both strengthening and lengthening the muscles. Particular emphasis is on the “powerhouse” (glutes, abdominal, and lower back muscles) but teaches total body integration.
Yoga Also a mind/body class Yoga is more static then Pilates while a greater emphasis is placed on increasing flexibility and improving balance.
Guts & Butts A conditioning class that focuses on the muscles of the core – abdominals, lower back, and the gluteal group.
Bootcamp This is a high intensity class that will include both strength and cardio along with core training. H.I.T.T. (high intensity interval training) is usually a big part of these classes, which helps improve and increase metabolic rate. All fitness levels are welcome – we can modify!
Zumba “Ditch the workout, Join the party!” Zumba combines current music with Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves that provide a cardio fitness class that will get you moving.
Step Aerobics A cardio based class that burns a bunch of calories! Lots of fun with great music. New participants are encouraged to come early to meet your instructor and be set up with the proper step height and any necessary modifications.
Cardio Kickboxing Usually a high intensity cardio class that drives the heart rate up using standard punches and kicks in fun combinations.
Cardio Strength This class will combine cardio and strength training. Equipment may be used such as BOSU Balls, free weights, resistance bands, or even the most amazing piece of equipment – your own body. Core and flexibility training will also always be included.
Cycle A big time cardio class on the specially designed bikes. Your instructor will take you on a great ride using some visualization and motivational music to challenge and inspire you. A great low impact exercise.
Water Exercise A great class to get both cardio and strength training with no impact on the joints. Definitely appropriate for ALL fitness levels.
