The University of Maine at Farmington offers several different Graduate Education Certificate Programs, each providing a series of related graduate courses designed to provide a concentrated, cohesive area of study.

UMF Graduate Education Certificates

  • Certificate in Administration – designed for practicing educators interested in pursuing opportunities in school administration. Two years of teaching experience is required to enroll in this certificate program.
  • Certificate in English Language Learning – designed for practicing educators interested in pursuing opportunities in teaching English language learners.
  • Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education – designed for practicing educators interested in pursuing opportunities in teaching gifted and talented students.
  • Certificate in Math Intervention Specialist – designed to prepare K-12 teachers to identify students who need assistance in mathematics and to address the needs of these students through assessment-informed and focused interventions.
  • Certificate in Math Leadership – designed for practicing educators interested in pursuing opportunities in mathematics leadership.
  • Certificate in Special Education Administration – designed for practicing educators interested in pursuing opportunities as a special education administrator.
  • Certificate in Special Education K-6 – designed for practicing educators who wish to increase their knowledge and expertise in special education for elementary school students.
  • Certificate in Special Education 6-12 – designed for practicing educators who wish to increase their knowledge and expertise in special education for middle and secondary school students.
  • Certificate in Systems of Student Support – designed to provide educational leaders with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies that can prepare them to assume leadership roles in the development and implementation of student support services and related programming in their schools and districts.
