The Certificate in Proficiency Based Education is designed for practicing educators who wish to increase their pedagogy and content knowledge of proficiency based education.

Participation in this certificate will assist teachers in leading this change process in their classrooms, schools, districts and beyond.

Completion of this Certificate requires four UMF courses:

  • EDU 574 Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Proficiency Based Education (Required)
  • EDU 575 Instructional Leadership (Required)
  • Two of the following courses
    • EDU 551 Changing Educational Organizations in a Diverse World
    • EDU 568 Communication Tools for Teaching and Learning in Proficiency-Based Education
    • EDU 576 Seminar In Proficiency Based Education

Enroll into the Certificate in the Proficiency Based Education program. Enroll now into the Certificate in Proficiency Based Education program that starts at UMF and RSU 12 in Fall 2017. All courses are offered using a blended format, with a combination of face-to-face class meetings and online study.
