Exploring Policy, Practice and Advocacy in Education

Join us to explore how you can impact the development and implementation of educational policy.  You can choose from a range of sessions to help you learn more about policy, practice, and advocacy at the local, state, and national levels.  Sessions will focus on a variety of topics such as: hearing from statewide organizations, finding your voice as a teacher leader, and contacting your local legislators.  This event is designed for undergraduate students, classroom teachers, administrators, and graduate students to learn and share ideas.  

RSVP by March 23, 2018 is required.

  • Finding Your Voice as a Teacher Leader
  • Understanding the Hiring Process and Your First Teaching Contract

5:30 –  Dinner – $15 Fee

6:15 – 7:00 Session Three

  • Statewide Association Panel (MEA, MPA, MSMA, MADSEC)
  • Early Childhood Panel (Maine AEYC, Maine Roads to Quality, Maine Children’s Alliance)
