COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidance

IMPORTANT UPDATE

As of May 11, 2023, the U.S. government will no longer require visitors to be fully vaccinated before entering the U.S.

Degree-seeking International Student (F-1 Visa)

Students apply to, and are admitted through, the UMF Admission Office. Once academically admitted, students work with the Office of Global Education to receive documents required for the visa application, make arrival and orientation preparations, and receive ongoing immigration advising.

International Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa)

Exchange students must first be nominated to the Office of Global Education by one of our partner institutions. Once the nomination is submitted, students will receive an email containing a unique link and detailed instructions to access the online Exchange Visitor application. J-1 Scholars must be sponsored by a UMF host faculty/department. The Office of Global Education will issue documents required for the visa application and provide arrival and orientation information as well as academic and immigration advising.

In the links below, you will find information that will help you plan your UMF experience as an international degree-seeking or exchange student/scholar.
