Learn more about the Mantor Library’s spaces:

Mantor Café: Just inside the front doors of the library and to the left is Mantor Café, a great place to get a hot or iced cup of your favorite beverage, or pick up a quick treat, salad, or sandwich.

The Information Desk & IT Helpdesk are located on the 1st floor of the library to the right after you enter the front door. At the Information Desk any library patron can borrow library materials, and get specialized research assistance. It’s also here where UMF Students, faculty, and staff can get in-person technology assistance at the IT Helpdesk.

The Student Learning Commons, located just beyond the on the 1st floor, is the hub for collaboration and tutoring provided for free to UMF students by the Peer Tutors and the Learning Commons Coordinator.

UMF Makerspace: On the 1st floor of the library, the Makerspace is open to the public and has a variety of “maker” technology tools for use. Student aides can explain the process and costs of use.

You’ll find the Quiet Study Area on the 2nd Floor of the library (accessible by the elevator or the blue, yellow, or green staircases). All other floors and areas are collaboration zones where talking at a respectful volume is encouraged. The 2nd floor may be scheduled for an occasional event such as admissions events, campus meetings, or special presentations. Such events are generally noted in advance on the library calendar.

Reservable Rooms: We offer several group study rooms available for groups of UMF students, faculty, and staff to reserve with a valid maine.edu email address.

The Peter Mills Electronic Classroom (PMEC) is a computer classroom located on the 3rd floor of the library PMEC SchedulePMEC Policy.

Mantor Library Closure Policy Generally speaking, the library will close if the UMF campus is closed due to weather. See the full policy for exceptions during the last week of classes & finals weeks.
