The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) Diversity Scholarship is awarded to outstanding new, incoming first-year students.
Preference is accorded to first-time, first-year students who have demonstrated quality academic achievement in high school, who have contributed to their schools and communities, and who can contribute to diversity on campus. Criteria used when considering a student’s potential contributions to diversity include, but are not limited to, special talents, geographic location, ethnicity, and academic interests and ability.
To receive the award, a recipient must maintain full-time enrollment status at UMF (of at least 12 credits per term), in a degree program, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. Further information about renewals can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
