 Description of the Internship:
Ski Depot is a family-owned and operated ski and accessories business with a loyal following across the country and worldwide. With a large volume of online sales and service, the business is seeking a student intern to assist in updating and enhancing their website and social media presence and developing a fresh and more youthful product presentation. Ski-Depot aims to provide a UMF student with real-world e-commerce experience in the retail ski industry.  Approximately 10-15 hours per week.  Work hours are flexible. Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Web Development intern will be focused on product media collection and representation on their website (www.ski-depot.com).  Major tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Image accusation and manipulation through Photoshop or other image editing software with end results being suitable for publication on website.  Data is currently provided by suppliers and may need resizing and cropping.
  • Product descriptions.  Input text data to appropriate product display area of website.  Text provided by supplier in most cases.  Ability to produce relevant copy for product that has no “supplier copy” will be expected as well, with guidance from Ski Depot staff.
  • Review current product listings and correct any issues relating to images and product descriptions.
  • Enhance current social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
  • Contribute ideas, evaluate and participate in ongoing development of Ski-depot.com, RaceSkis.com and SwixShop.com websites.
  • Provide a fresh, youthful viewpoint and perspective to our team with a focus on improving product presentation.
Qualifications:
  • Strong computer/technology skills
  • Familiarity with web, social media, and graphics editing
  • Strong willingness to learn Drupal Ecommerce platform and image editing skills
  • Self motivated and creative
  • Interest in and willingness to actively participate in the development of the website
  • Responsible, mature student with outstanding work ethic
