Description of the Internship:
The Greater Franklin Development Corporation (GFDC) is a non-profit, economic development organization focused on creating jobs through encouraging entrepreneurs, attracting new businesses, and assisting local employers.

Advertising and promotion play an active role in the development of Greater Franklin Development Corporation and the Franklin County Tourism Network.  A large part of economic development is the tourism attraction to increase sales in the county and region.  The GFDC is seeking an Advertising and Promotion Intern to assist in GFDC’s necessary grant writing, help with campaign, and create Ad pages that are annually published in October.

The intern will regularly make phone calls to businesses, write proposals, and write grants, as well as many other activities.

General responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Grant writing
  • Business calls
  • Proposal write-ups
  • Create mock Ad proposals
  • Develop Lure Ads
  • Crete Base Page
  • Tacking Budgeting and costs

Research responsibilities will include:

  • Identify potential tourist and regional attractions
  • Research grants and funds
  • Research and report on trending tourist sites
  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed use of Word and Publisher
