Description of the Internship:
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IFW) exists to evaluate, manage, and maintain freshwater fish and wildlife populations for current and future generations of Maine citizens.

Responsibilities:
The work involved with this internship is varied, and changes according to the season.  For example, responsibilities may include:

  • Sampling of lakes, ponds, streams and rivers
  • Data input
  • Maintenance
  • Assistance with report writing
  • Creel survey or other public contacts
Qualifications:
  • Dependable
  • Comfortable in boats and other outdoor situations
  • Ability to focus on detail
  • Background and/or interest in fisheries and/or Biology
  • Valid Drivers License required
