Description of the Internship:
Alba-Technic is an early stage company that has developed a proprietary technology which is being applied to the production of customizable headwear to protect persons from traumatic brain injury.  Alba-Technic has been funded by the Maine Technology Institute, National Institute of Health, SBIR Phase 1 and 2, and is currently funded by the National Science Foundation, STTR Phase 1 Science and Technology Transfer.  Total research funds to date exceed 1.4 million.  The company is currently in pre-commercialization status and will be expanding its workforce in the near future.
Alba-Technic, currently a small, three-person office, is seeking an intern who is outgoing, bright, not afraid to fail, and constantly bringing creative ideas to the table.  This internship, and possible employment thereafter, needs an individual who thrives in an environment with endless possibilities.  It is estimated the intern would work approximately 10 hours per week.

Primary responsibilities for this intern will include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Assisting the CEO in a variety of projects pertaining to the company’s development
  • Work closely with supervisor, but able to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Basic office upkeep and organization, including finances/bookkeeping
  • Assist is administering both state and federal research grants (don’t let this scare you away – it’s something the successful candidate will learn)
  • Assist in marketing and social media

  • Good computer skills; familiarity with both Mac and PC is essential
  • Experience using Powerpoint
  • Knowledge and working understanding of finances; experience with Quickbooks
  • Knowledge/coursework/or experience in marketing and social media
  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently
  • Sense of humor – this is an easy going, but hard working environment
