Description of the Internship:
The Ski Museum of Maine was founded in 1995.  Its mission is to “Celebrate and preserve the history and heritage of Maine skiing.” The Ski Museum exhibits artifacts, photographs, artwork and documents at its location in Kingfield, conducts educational programs to schools, libraries, ski clubs, historical and civic organizations, and hosts social events and activities throughout the year.

The Museum is seeking a student intern to work as a Media Conversion and Accessioning Technician.  It is anticipated the intern would work 10-12 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
The Media Conversion and Accessioning Technician will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Museum.  Responsibilities will vary from day to day and will include:

  • collections management
  • exhibit development and design
  • accessioning artifacts
  • historical research
  • communication/marketing & social media interaction

The amount of time spent on any one area may depend on the intern’s skills and areas of interest.
