Description of the Internship:
Titcomb Mountain is a community-based alpine and Nordic ski/snowboard area. For over 70 years, this mountain has been the focus of winter recreational activities for Franklin County. Titcomb Mountain is seeking an intern to assist in all areas of operation concerning ski programs and other winter activities.

Currently, Titcomb offers 8 diverse winter programs each year. The programs cover alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and snowboarding opportunities from entry-level to competitive, covering a range of ages and accommodate participant’s availability during the winter season. These programs are significant to Franklin County for providing healthy activities to youth in the area.

In performing the Ski & Ride Program Director internship, the intern will learn and have hands-on experience with a wide variety of projects and tasks. Responsibilities vary between the fall and spring semesters, with the latter encompassing the winter season.

Preparation of Ski Programs

  • Assist in updating information and designing the structure of all ski programs.
  • Promoting, broadcasting, and launching program information to the community.
  • Assist with the registration process and organizing program participants.
  • Recruit volunteers and instructors to support each program.

Program Operations

  • Oversee and assist lead program directors and instructors.
  • Be the lead Director of one ski and ride program (Saturday Ski School)
  • Review and record development of the Learn-to-Ski program’s participants.
  • Engage in networking and public relations with participants and club members.
  • Plan and implement new on-mountain programs.
  • Lead and assess program volunteers and instructors.
  • Assist with marketing all programs on a variety of social media platforms.
  • Assist with managing staff and participant injury reports.
  • Create feedback survey for ski program participants.
  • Attend Committee Meetings and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Good communication (verbal and writing) skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with staff, volunteers and the general public
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with social media and websites
  • Training and/or experience in marketing
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-starter
  • Available on Saturdays.
