Description of the Internship:
Farmington Underground Escape Room is an experience full of puzzles, games, and theatrical elements.  Small groups of people enter a themed room where they follow along with a story to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and reach a dramatic conclusion.  Each scenario is led and supported by a member of Farmington Underground to ensure a fun, exciting, and safe experience.

Our mission at Farmington Underground is to bring a unique, immersive experience that tells a story to entertain, engage, develop critical thinking and provide team-building for families, friends, students, and businesses through this locally-owned and operated attraction.  We are devoted to supporting arts, culture and community in Western Maine.

The hours for this internship are flexible; the intern is expected to work 8 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
This position will be further tailored to the skills and strengths of the candidate selected, but will include responsibilities from the following list:

  • Design and build set pieces
  • Paint scenery walls and props
  • Create puzzles and games for small groups
  • Envision and design technological components for puzzles
  • Audio/musical creation and selection

In addition to the above responsibilities, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn skills in small business management, advertising/marketing, and event planning.
