Description of the Internship:
The Bureau of Parks and Lands is looking to fill three vacant caretaker positions in a way that both benefits the bureau and the local community. This position would include summer lodging expenses, and expose students to recreation that happens on the Bigelow Preserve. The student/s would stay at the Bigelow Lodge for the summer of 2019, a remote ski lodge owned by the Bureau. The student/s would use the lodge as a base camp from which they will be involved in a variety of recreation management activities from hiking, canoeing, camping, mountain biking, and backpacking.

  • Outreach to the public user group
  • Trail construction
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to use handtools
  • Able to work 20-40 hours per week
