|Volunteer Position:||Animal Shelter Volunteer|
|Period of Engagement:||Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities|
|Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:|
|The Franklin County Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization. Since 1974, their purpose has been to provide temporary care and shelter to stray, homeless and abandoned animals. FCAS serves the community as an adoption facility where loving families and pets in need of a home came together.
The shelter relies on helpful volunteers and community involvement to maintain a high standard of care. UMF students make great volunteers and the shelter would like to encourage them to make volunteering a regular part of their lives.
Volunteer hours and schedules are flexible.
