The Rehabilitation Services Program annually recognizes two students for academic achievement and community service. Students in the program nominate and vote on who they feel is deserving of these awards. Once a year, students are recognized with these awards, and their names will be engraved on plaques that reside in the Rehabilitation Services Department.
Academic Achievement Award
This award is not given to someone who has maintained a high grade point average and academic transcript throughout their college career. Instead, this award recognizes someone that has grown academically. Generally this award is given to someone that has had a difficult transition into college or within a different program on campus, but has overcome any obstacles and has excelled in the Rehabilitation Services Program.
Community Services Award
This award recognizes a student that has performed some type of community service since starting the Rehabilitation Services Program. The community service recognized will have bettered the Rehabilitation Services Program or the UMF campus.
