Membership in the UMF Upsilon Kappa chapter of Tri-Beta (a national biology honors society) is intended for biology, science, and science education majors. Students in the local chapter participate in regularly scheduled meetings, sponsor invited speakers, enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities (e.g., whale watches, Everglades trips, camping trips, canoe trips, etc.), present papers at regional and national meetings, and engage in a variety of service related events. Members emphasize that it’s a great place to meet motivated science majors and learn more about classes, the faculty, and opportunities for science internships, research projects, and jobs.
