Welcome to the Johnson Scholars homepage
The UMF Johnson Scholars Program is a TRIO Student Support Services program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Its goal is to increase college retention and graduation rates of UMF students who are the first in their families to pursue a four year college degree. The program serves its students from their first year through to their graduation from UMF. The mission of the Johnson Scholars Program is to provide intentional, proactive advising and mentoring that is based on high standards, student resilience, and compassion. In a caring environment, Johnson Scholars staff supports students in defining and achieving their academic and personal goals. With guidance students learn to practice self-advocacy, action, and leadership as they become lifelong learners in a complex world.
