Farmington has always welcomed students from other colleges who seek to join our campus community. We have a lot of Transfer students here, so you’ll fit right in. And it has been our experience that Transfers to Farmington have been among our strongest, most motivated and successful students.

That’s why our $1,000 per year Transfer scholarship is for everyone.

  • Maine Resident? Yes.
  • Resident from another state? Yes.
  • Attended a Maine college? Yes.
  • Attended an out-of-state college? Yes.
  • Attended a community college in Maine or anywhere else? Yes.

Oh, and our $1,000 Transfer Scholarship isn’t just a one-and-done limited-time offer. Yes, our Transfer Scholarship is renewable in the amount of $500 per semester for 6 consecutive semesters. And no additional application is required for this scholarship.

Our $1,000 per year Transfer Scholarship is awarded to Transfer applicants with an outstanding college record. This special Transfer Scholarship is renewable provided you meet the renewal requirements, which include enrollment in at least 12 UMF credit hours per semester and remain in good academic standing.

Plus a $2,000 scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members.

Are you a member of the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Society (PTK)? As a member in good standing with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, you may be eligible for an additional $2,000 per year scholarship. No additional application is required for this scholarship.

New Scholarship for Students Transferring to UMF from any Maine Community College. AND you’ll be guaranteed a student work position on campus. Yes, seriously.

Our new You Belong at UMF Scholarship is for those who graduated from a Maine high school in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and who’ve been enjoying the Maine Community College free tuition deal.

The You Belong at UMF Scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $4,000 per year and is in addition to other Transfer scholarships and the Phi Theta Kappa (Transfer honor society) scholarship.

Best of all, this new scholarship is renewable for 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years — up to 6 consecutive semesters at UMF!

Did you graduate from a Franklin County (Maine) High School? Our Come Home to UMF program lets you live on campus FREE your first year!

Through our Come Home to UMF program, if you graduated from a Franklin County, Maine high school and took a year off after high school or are transferring to Farmington after one semester or one year, you can receive FREE on-campus housing at UMF your first year — a savings of more than $5,000.
